- Still image analysis - how it links with genre and narrative
- Uses and gratification theory notes and how it applies to you
- Opening scene discussion notes (Seven and one of your choice) about the conventions and effects of the opening scenes
- Representation theory notes: Semiotics/Male Gaze/Hyperreality - questions answered on a film opening of your choice
- High-budget vs low-budget institution research
GENRE GROUPS - British socialist drama, action adventure for children, supernatural thriller, rom/com You will be pitching your film idea as in a boardroom to a very important group of producers. You will not need to think about budget at this stage but you do need to have a clear idea of how this film will appeal to your audience. The genre needs to be obvious as this is a selling point and you need to show us an eight shot storyboard of your opening sequence. Next lesson Tuesday 18th September presentation pitches.
